Description: The Main Street project called for the re-construction of key roadway and utility infrastructure in the Town Center area of Mountlake Terrace. Elements of the design include the reconstruction of key roadway segments, widened sidewalks, new energy efficient pedestrian and street lighting, undergrounding of overhead utilities, improvements to water, storm, and sewer systems, new bicycle lanes, improved ADA access, new traffic signals, inclusion of trees and tree grates, and other improvements.
The project also included preliminary work for the future Gateway Boulevard roadway extension within the Freeway/Tourist District. This roadway will connect the Gateway Plaza retail area northwards to the Transit Center, which is located along 236th Street SW.
