Description: Formerly known as FX McRorys Building, this is one of three early 20th century buildings being updated as part of the Railspur redevelopment. This includes an alley re-activation and a new retail district in historic Pioneer Square. This was a 77,000, 8-story masonry building built in 1906 adjacent to public transportation and the Stadium and Port Districts. The district maintains the historical character and included, a boutique hotel, artisan retail, a bike club and café, and activated the alley with music, art and events.
The addition of the penthouse included the use of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT). Also included a new exterior stair tower reminiscent of historic fire escapes, and other structural repairs and modifications.
