We are currently seeking a qualified and motivated Lab Supervisor or Experienced Lab Technician to join our team in Tacoma, WA as a Laboratory Manager. This is a rare opportunity for a technician ready to take on a leadership role in a dynamic materials testing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the materials testing laboratory
- Perform and supervise lab testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and Caltrans specifications
- Maintain accurate documentation and detailed project records
- Ensure compliance with AASHTO, DSA, and DOT certification standards
- Manage and calibrate testing equipment, ensuring quality and safety
- Lead and mentor lab staff to ensure consistent, high-quality results
- Coordinate with field teams and project managers to support testing needs
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a construction materials testing lab
- Proficient in Caltrans testing methods for soils, concrete, and asphalt
- NICET and ACI Certifications required, including:
- Concrete Strength Testing Technician
- Aggregate/Soils Base Testing Technician
- WABO Lab Manager certification (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move on uneven terrain for extended periods
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under company policy

Compensation: $38 – $45 per hour (DOE)
